Scrapbook, 1858-1872.

Scrapbook compiled by Trent containing the official records of the Sons of Temperance and other materials relating to the organization and offices held by Trent. Among the papers are clippings; a broadside, 1869, soliciting members by the Undine Temple of Honor and Temperance; printed materials concerning the Virginia Inebriates' Home, the National Division of the Sons of Temperance of North America, and the Grand Division of the Sons of Temperance of Virginia; and reports and related correspondence, 1861 and 1862, concerning a dispute within the national division of the Sons of Temperance about the admission of black members and the reaction to the Civil War.
